What is GATA?

GATA stands for the Greater Ashland Tennis Association. GATA was formed to promote the sport of tennis especially through programs and activities offered through the Ashland Tennis Center. The tennis center is non-profit organization and operates under the Ashland Tennis Commission which was formed under a city ordinance in 1972.  The center has a full-time manger that directs all tennis activities and reports to a seven member board that is appointed by the Mayor.

The Ashland Tennis Center is a public tennis facility located in Ashland, Kentucky.  The tennis center boasts eleven outdoor hard courts and four indoor hard courts for year round play. There are NO membership fees! Nominal court fees are charged to use the indoor and outdoor tennis courts. Juniors 18 and under play free on the outdoor courts and are able to play free indoors if they currently take lessons at the center. Group and private lessons are also available by our certified teaching professionals. A full service Pro Shop is available to meet your latest fashion and racquet needs.
